Albert Weiner, founder of U.S. Waterproofing, dies at 90

In the postwar housing boom of the 1950s, Albert Weiner realized new Chicago-area houses would soon need the services of a company that helped keep basements dry.

In 1957 Mr. Weiner founded U.S. Waterproofing, which has grown into one of the largest waterproofing companies in Chicagoland.

Mr. Weiner, 90, died of an aneurysm Monday, Nov. 3, at his vacation home in Boca Raton, Fla., according to his family. He lived most of the year in Highland Park.
